Much like the excellent example of Poe's purloined letter, the truth has been there all along. Liberals make the best fascists. They simply cannot help themselves.
It is a not so bewildering fact that must confront most, if not all, sentient baby boomers, that side by side with their protest songs, a rather sleazy love affair in academe was being had all the while for the icons of fascism-- Wagner, Nietsche, Ezra Pound, Gertrude Stein...No, this wasn't your hardcore right wing Joe McCarthy stuff.
